Meet Deidra

Some of who I am.
Deidra is visible from the chest up. She wears thick-rimmed dark brown glasses, small round gold earrings, and a yellow-gold short-sleeved t-shirt, her black hair cut close to her head. She looks up and to her right, standing in front of a wall of large beige bricks that has shadows cast upon it.Photo by Jeffrey Filiault

Hi, I'm Deidra (she/they).

I'm a trombonist and consultant specializing in organizational learning, values alignment, and the arts. With a personal investment in intersectional racial justice, I prioritize work supporting individuals, groups, organizations, and projects that honor people, communities, and truth. I'm particularly interested in helping organizations strategically align their programs, operations, and culture with their stated values, especially as it relates to issues of racial inequity and other forms of oppression.

I am excited to work with clients reflecting a range of fields, and I have particular expertise in the realm of arts and culture. My work in the arts spans decades, disciplines, regions, and roles. With more than ten years of experience working with organizations of various sizes and with a diversity of missions, as well as a Master's in Arts Administration from Goucher College and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Amherst College, I offer my clients a breadth of knowledge, skill, and understanding.

My approach is collaborative and iterative. It requires deep listening and trust building, relies on mutual respect and a commitment to learning and growth, and promotes creativity, integrity, compassion, and joy.

If you're interested in having a conversation about how we might work together,
feel welcome to send me a message at
