Music has been my primary form of artistic expression for over twenty-five years. I have always preferred ensemble performances to solos, collaboration to silos—but I have recently embraced a contemplative songwriting practice.

As a brass instrumentalist, I have played in orchestras, big bands, jazz combos, and brass bands. I have performed in concert halls and breweries, for gallery openings and weddings, and at birthday parties and festivals. As a vocalist, I have toured internationally, performed at the Newport Folk Festival, and opened for Elvis Perkins. I have taught general music in classrooms; given voice, piano, percussion, brass, and music theory instruction in one-on-one and small group settings; and traveled the country teaching Sacred Harp singing schools.
